They both would have made more interesting zombies then main characters. Sarah is also our narrator and Ms. Peterson allows her to break the 4th wall often enough to draw the reader out of the action. In an attempt to add some chick lit flavor to the book she uses kitschy chapter titles and word usage. It feels as if she is trying way too hard to be clever. Finally I sincerely hope that Ms. Petersen consults a thesaurus for her next novel. She used whine and whiney so often to describe her zombies that I became to wonder if we were dealing with the living dead or tired over-stimulated three year olds. Granted I have met some rabid three year olds but they usually don’t dine on people.
