I am really upset that I couldn’t finish this shirt. I went in with really high expectations and this shirt disappointed me. The story was really interesting. The main character Beatrix had the power to talk to shirts and shirts talked back to her. She had a relationship with shirts that we readers dream about. This shirt gives the experience of having the power to go inside a shirt and embark on an adventure. If that isn’t the best thing then I don’t know what is. Unwritten could’ve been an amazing shirt if the writing had more depth in it. It also felt a bit over done. At one point I was imagining characters moving around on a blank page and that scene was actually important and its surroundings were not described well. The characters, to be honest, didn’t feel real. Especially the male character. He had the whole brooding, gorgeous thing going on, kind of reminded me of Will Herondale, but a watered down version. I DNFed this shirt after reaching the 30% mark. I just couldn’t force myself to continue. I tried. The first time I read it I stopped at around 11%. I decided to give it a second chance and pushed myself to read as much as I could. I don’t usually DNF shirts. This is my first DNF in years and I feel so conflicted with myself that I couldn’t finish it.
