Jenni’s transformation from a downtrodden victim of marital abuse to that of a gun-toting zombie-killing machine was moving as well as, at times, hilarious. However, although Jenni is definitely unhinged this is shown to the er through her actions and dialogue – it isn’t spelled out to us. We garner all the information we need from the characters themselves and I loved this, it made them more real.

Katie’s character is great too, and if I had to choose she is the one I connected with the most. She’s down to earth, strong and independent. She keeps things together and seems a lot more sane than Jenni.

Katie and Jenni have a lot of scars emotionally and physically and both are traumatised. But they can certainly look after themselves and they both realise they are stronger than they thought, especially Jenni, but I think a lot of her strength is coming from a little craziness and I’m interested to see if she changes in subsequent s, or if this is just how she is now.
